Eco Trick #5 Outdoor Patio Setup

Remembered the table that we are blessed with from a bungalow's tenant? We were given 4 chairs too. Two of which the frame gave way shortly after. For safety reason. we have to bin them.

The other 2 in the picture above have torn seats' fabric, the stitches and fabric are all disintegrating too.  The frames/base however are solid. We therefore decided to tie the two chairs together, add a plank on top ( the remaining bed plank), tie them firmly to the arm rest  to form an outdoor table. Perfect work table for small jobs during sunny days


How about a little rustic bar counter look alike? Saw a discarded metal base, place a bi-folding toilet door on top and  bingo, we got what we wanted.

The Rational #whydothis The first step towards sustainability is really about acquiring less.  We seek to reuse as much as we can, whatever that is already onsite. Recycle and reuse required lots of planning and coordination on the planner/builder part. The person needs to really think out of the box too. I personally witnessed my clayey orange soil  transformed to  rich dark loamy texture soil over time with right beneficial microbes introduced when I first embarked on the journey to grow food for own consumption.  Yes, it takes time as compare to instant results using chemicals but it is definitely worth the while in the long run. I struggled for the first half to one year, see lights on second year and simply love it thereafter. 10 years on, you can take anything from my plot, but not my microbes rich soil. We started our journey of sweet melons/cantaloupes growing back in 2012, about 10 years ago. Then the green house conditions are non ideal for sweet melon growing. Low roof, hot and humid. We also cannot do constant drip system for that site.  Most cultivars of sweet melons did not flourish in the previous setup except one,  Taiwan cantaloupe (洋香瓜). We are able to plant pretty well consequentially almost every year.   Our main focus at that time is really asia leafy vegetables hence very little space are allocated for cucurbits growing.
