Jeju Olle Trail Route 4@100km, Part 1 of 3

#Route4 #Haenyeo #GeeseInFormation #CuteCafesHouse

This 19Km route has path built next to the Haenyeo workplace. We can literately see them in action.

The trail itself may not be that scenic but the actions along the path were really unique. But do bear in mind, you may or may not see it. These actions are not tailored for you, like a show. Celebrate and be thankful if you managed to see them in full action, let it go if you miss it. The schedules are built around their daily life, please respect that.

#HaenyeoInAction #Amazing

We were fortunate to see them in action and captured that in video. It was something that deeply inked into my memory and will not be forgotten in my life time.  Click and watch the whole video. Is definitely something that worth your time. Due to size restriction, resolution has to be reduced but you still get to see the actions.

#GeesesInFormation #SeeItLive

I read and watch in documentary on geese V formation and how they create an aero-dynamic advantage, reducing resistance and allowing them to fly longer distance with less energy.

So blessed to see them in action. First to see them landed, rest and take a break by the coast. Took off shortly after and form a V formation and proceed onwards. Amazing!

#Coastal #StreetArt

Beautiful coastal view continued, coupled with streets arts and pretty stones houses.

#MoreCafes

For someone that love cafes, Jeju is a heaven to us. Everywhere we chanced upon Instagram worthy cafes. Really spoiled for choice and a feast to the eyes.

#MoreTangerines #TanginerinesFarm #SuperFriendlyGrower

After the mid point station, as we trekked on, more tangerine plantations greeted us. Bought a bag of fruits from a self service kiosk based on honest system. Was invited to the farm with many fruit trees and get the best pictures captured. Special thanks to the friendly host. Once again we ran into wonderful people.

#MoreCafes #FoodTime #LetsTakeABreak #BestSaltedBread

We decided to take a break at a beautiful cafe along the coast. As usual, simply loved it. The salted bread was so so good.

Spotted more cute cafes along the way but we just admired with our eyes as we were still full. The bears cafe was just too cute to ignore though.

#HaenyeoSellingTheirCatch #MarketByTheCoast

Trekked along and we chanced upon an open air, by the coast, seafood market. Do not understand a single word but from their actions, it was definitely buying and selling of the catch of the day in action. Someone will point to some seafood, they were weighed, packed and be gone after. This site was just beside a Haenyeo house.

#MoreFood #ColdNoodle

Nothing beats having a bowl of cold noodle on a hot day. Took another break and enjoyed our cold noodle in a cosy kiosk.

This meal stop was unplanned. We just saw a signage and decided to detour a bit and give it a try. Great find. The cha soba was spot on. Turned out the owner was trained in Japan on soba making and can speak a bit of English. We had such a great time chatting and was even given a bag of tangerines to take away! Great people once again.

Shortly after, we came to the end of this route. Here came the familiar Ganse (symbol of Jeju Olle trails), the pony-shaped blue sculpture. Stamping time. We started to enjoy this process.

#RouteInfo

Attached the pin for route 4 course, the start and end point (CW) on Kakao map that we used. We found them essential for managing the trek, hence attached here. Use at own risk. Please do your own study before the trek.

#WrappedUp #TimeToFeast

Our accommodation is just walking distance from the Ganse for route 4. As usual,  was time to feast again.  This evening, we decided to try local Sashimi fish. It was just 3 mins walk from our hotel. Walked into an all Koreans eatery once again and be surprised.

How do we ordered the food? Just point to the food on the next table and took some risk.

Our verdict. The fish/cut was not as refined as the classic Japanese sashimi that we are familiar with. But the sauce, the rice and the side dishes to go with the wrap was so good. Something uniquely Korean.  Glad we have decided to try it.

Another great day.
